It’s not every day that you’ll find a hentai advice column on the Internet, but we here at N2N want to make sure that you make an informed decision every time you browse the Internet. And by Internet, we mean Fakku, because it’s the number one site for quality anime smut.
But, in some cases, “quality” can falter. You may have only five minutes to select a manga, and you spend three of them wading through below average material. We intend to fix that problem, reviewing a selection each week, so you don’t waste your time.
This week, I will review “Renai Sample,” the first published, monetized collection. (I could’ve gotten a hard copy, but I have a problem associating a tangible object with what I consider my special time.) Plus, it’s easier and cheaper to buy strictly digital access. ($10 is cheap for 216 uncensored pages, and it’s the only money I’ve ever spent on porn.)
Like I said, it’s uncensored, and by a well-known artist, Homunculus. I’m familiar enough with his work, and I was excited to delve into the stories. However, this opening picture was too sweet, and the girl reminds me of “It’s a Small World” from Disney. I skipped past this as quickly as possible, and into…
I can work with this. This is beautiful. The lighting is spot on, the content suggests yuri, and the scene is in a shower. Also, the pubes look adorable.
The first tag on the Renai Sample is tsundere, one of my personal favorites, so I neglected to notice the lack of my other vices– er, favorites. More on that later.
Worth the $10 alone is the chapter list. It managed to mention teachers, sisters, and devils. Surely this would be a good read.
And, honestly, it is. I’m a huge fan of story lines inside of hentai, and there are plenty of those in these stories. I’ve never had such a diverse and large amount of content so easily accessible; plus, the navigation is a dream. Chapter selection is available at any moment. You can choose to read it in the American style (left-to-right page flipping), or classically (right-to-left). Side note: I have lived in America my entire goddamn life. I grew up reading left-to-right, but now I have trouble reading anything with pictures because of stupid, glorious hentai manga.
I can’t review every story on here, because A) I think that considerably violates the covenant Fakku and I share, represented by the $10 charge on my bank statement, and B) some of them aren’t worth reviewing. This will be a comprehensive review, nonetheless.
Obscenity aside, this one frame is a testament to the artist’s ability. I absolutely love the work on the hair, the detail in the sweater, and the shapes of the characters. Anyone with any knowledge of anime or manga will understand that last point, but for the beginner hentai lover, I will explain. I, personally, can’t stand the outdated, “classic” anime aesthetic (think: “Sailor Moon,” Misty from early “Pokemon”). Homunculus’ work features a modern take on anime, with smoother design, suggesting more realistic environments. Also, the girl above reminds me of my girlfriend. This is a promising assortment of hentai, so far. (Happy spoiler alert: there are no ugly, stereotypical otaku in the collection.)
Two things worth mentioning. I don’t like onomatopoeia cluttering the space, and Renai Sample includes a healthy amount. I could look past it, however, “thrust” is an action (not a sound), and later on, “splop” is featured. “Splop” is quite possibly the ugliest sound I’ve ever laid eyes on. The second aspect of this frame is one that I appreciate immensely: the genitalia isn’t hideous. The men don’t have enormous, veins-bulging penises, and the women have streamlined, cute parts (ass included, and not just the cheeks).
I already mentioned how I love story line, but this story (“Summer’s Beast”) gets me. It gets me. First of all, it’s incest, a tag that was not listed in the description. Which I love. (The girl is the guy’s cousin, which isn’t too incesty, but I’ll accept it. There’s more incest in other selections.) Also, it features blood, a very real part of sex that I sometimes enjoy. It’s slightly forced, which I like. But then…
The girl grows up, is about to get married, and wants to hook up with her cousin again. She wakes him up in virtually no clothing, forcing herself on him. It gets messy, it gets beautiful.

Take a minute to digest how great this selection is. “Summer’s Beast” is one of the best hentai I’ve ever read, and I’m sticking to that.
I’ll comment on this chapter because the girl reminds me of Cynthia, the Elite Four Champion from Sinnoh’s Pokemon League. Also, shower; also, cute butt, nice breasts. I typically stick to dark haired girls in hentai, but this is an attractive blonde.
This chapter may as well be the climax of the whole damn book. Two girls, one with knee highs, and both with cute butts. Almost every chapter has a girl that reminds me of my girlfriend, and this one has two. I’m chuffed as chips.
Renai Sample is consistent throughout. It’s just good. I mistakenly thought I saw the “anal” tag, so I was disappointed when I didn’t see any of it. However, the constant view of uncensored asses was enough to qualify this book for my top ten list. It’s a perfect balance of cuteness and downright sexuality.
As a tag at the end, and a bit at the beginning, there are full color pictures. I’m a fan of black and white, myself, but the color is very well done.
Do I recommend paying $10? Most hentai is free. But, surprisingly, I’m a 70% yes. It’s an 8.9/10, and I don’t think paying for something that doesn’t have all of your favorite tags is the best idea. But, maybe this is everything you want, and maybe $10 is pocket change for you, so go right ahead. I’m pleased that I have access to it so easily, as well. I don’t have to navigate through so many damn websites to find quality hentai. Find a friend to split the cost with, or maybe we’ll find a way to make this book available.
